1  General Category / Ferrarichat League / Victory in Monza on: September 11, 2022, 05:43:45 PM
I don't think anyone was happy with the way that race ended: not the fans, not the media, and not 19 of 20 racers.  But overall a decent day for the Scuderia Modificata.  We started the race with half our drivers in the bottom of the grid, and got to watch some masterful driving as they made their way up.  It helps having the best cars, of course, but a good day nonetheless.

Not a perfect race but good enough to take the top step, and extend the leads in the championships.  The Red Bull machine is pretty incredible this year, and the rest of the team provides fascinating lessons in interpersonal development and overcoming adversity.

5  General Category / Ferrarichat League / first loser in Spa on: August 28, 2022, 04:16:22 PM
Congratulations to Orange Army for having 5 drivers finish the race!  Our team struggled with only 4, but a strong showing by the Red Bulls helped pull us onto the podium and keep the lead in the championships.  We're looking forward to the next challenge in the Dutch GP.

7  General Category / Ferrarichat League / "Hungary" for a victory on: July 31, 2022, 05:35:59 PM
Sure, we can't let this race pass without the old pun . . .

We thought we made an error in trades for this weekend when Russell surprised everyone with a pole qualifying effort.  As it turned out, we -did- have an error, because Russell finished better than Sainz.  Fortunately the error didn't impact the total score too badly, and we still pulled off a top place finish.

We're looking forward to the long break, and it will be interesting to see if Ferrari can regain their early-season polish after some much-needed rest.

We stay in the lead in both championships, but take nothing for granted.  There's some good teams hot on our tail.

9  General Category / Ferrarichat League / Switcheroo for Victory! on: July 24, 2022, 04:15:11 PM
After the flambe' last week, the team decided to retire Sainz for the weekend and switch to Russell.  Though we believe the Ferrari machines are faster than the Mercedes, worst-to-first seemed unlikely to our team strategists.  Unfortunately, the Ferrari strategists turned out to be even more pessimistic.

Thankfully our switch worked out, Russell was on the podium, and SM takes another win to stay in the lead in both championships.  Onward to Hungary!

11  General Category / Ferrarichat League / A podium is preferred to a funeral on: July 03, 2022, 10:47:50 PM
Scuderia Modificata would first like to thank the designers of the Halo.  Without that addition (which we originally hated), this weekend could have been remembered quite differently.  But fortunately all is well, and Netflix has some spectacular footage for the next season of Drive to Survive.

Our team did well enough considering the problems Max had on the track.  We would prefer winning, but the podium finish keeps us competitive, and we are still on top in the championships.  The other teams are hot on our heels, so we are hoping for better next weekend.

Oh yeah -- Go 'Murica!  WAhoooo BOOM BOOM BOOM rock music BEER!

Cheesy

The team did better than expected in Canada, especially given the fact one of our drivers started almost dead last.  The failure of Perez to finish hurt quite a bit, but overall the team had 4 of the top 5 drivers and managed to claw their way onto the bottom step.  We look forward to the next race at Silverstone, and think we have almost the optimal team.  Almost . . .
15  General Category / Ferrarichat League / The streak ends, but still a good result on: June 12, 2022, 02:32:00 PM
After 3 victories in a row, Scuderia Modificata had to settle for 2nd this week.  Still, that's a good result that helps keep the team at the top of the championships.  We were surprise to see two of our workhorses fall out of this race, but our "midfield" addition this week and his 4th place finish contributed quite a bit.  On to Canada!
